A good weekend so far

I am now running, striding out and getting my gait back. The T-Birds won their match against Greensborough and unveiled their new training shirts and Carlton finally got another win this season. Unfortunately, because of my coaching commitments to the T-Birds I could not make it to the match. But I am happy none the less.

The T-Birds (KEW Hockey Club Women’s Thirds) are really becoming finals contenders now with some dominant displays over the past two matches and are keeping the top four in reach.

I picked up the new training shirts from Richmond and let Cromie unveil them as she had put in the hard yards to get them organised and designed. They look awesome – a very cool ‘T-Birds’ (Grease style) logo and our nickname on the back.

I have been working hard to get my quads and hamstrings firing again and it was good to go for a run with the girls before the match. Even if I was lagging a bit behind! At this rate, and barring any issues, I should be able to make back to triathlon by early January if not December. Just need to keep working at it.

Going strong

I am now nearing 25 weeks post-op. It sounds like a long time but it still has not been six months since surgery. However, my strength conditioning and general activity have been on the increase. Cycling (stationary and free wheeling), weights, lunges, balance work and some thing some people would call the Cliffy Young shuffle have all been part of the repertoire. Continue reading
